Casey Anthony is awarded debt relief for most of $790,000 debt

Facing multiple debts on an income that isn't enough to cover them can be a frightening experience. Fortunately, there are avenues available to help people who need to consolidate debts into more manageable payments. Orlando residents might be interested to learn that Casey Anthony has had most of her $790,000 in debt discharged.

A judge has ruled that all of Anthony's debt is discharged with the exception of court fines and student loans. Most of the debt is legal fees she racked up during her trial. This news comes on top of a ruling last month that approved Anthony's settlement with Equusearch; that ruling entitled the search and rescue company to $75,000 of the cost associated with the search for Anthony's deceased daughter.

In the most recent filing to remove the other debts, Anthony claimed to have $1,000 and no income. Despite this ruling, the Equusearch settlement hasn't been discharged. It isn't clear if the company will ever get the money due from the settlement.

The ruling by the judge in this case shows an extreme example of someone who had multiple debts and needs a fresh start. If you have credit card debt or any other type of unsecured debt, debt consolidation may help you to get back on the track toward a strong financial future. Contacting an experienced Orlando bankruptcy professional is a step you can take, as well, to help seek out debt relief. These professionals can help you determine the types of debt consolidation or full debt relief that will work best for your financial situation.
